In the framework of the Organization of American States (OAS) Small Grant Facility / Reforestation Grant Funds (RGF) Program, the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) launched two reforestation workshops this week in Jacmel and Les Cayes.

This five-year program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has as its main objective the protection of natural parks: Macaya, Visit and Pine Forest, by increasing the forest cover of buffer zones.

The Program aims to diversify household income-generating activities to ensure sustainable environmental protection. RGF aims to offer living populations in these areas alternatives to cutting trees.

These brainstorming workshops are an opportunity for local authorities, sectoral ministries, private sector actors, local organizations and NGOs to share experiences and know-how in order to achieve better results in the field. implementation of this Program.
