iciHaiti - Politic : Fortification of imported food, moratorium
In a note dated August 10, the Ministry of Trade and Industry reminds Haitian importers and foreign suppliers of certain food products that the Government of Haiti has promulgated, in February 2017 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8982-haiti-politic-the-council-of-ministers-approved-15-preliminary-draft-laws-and-orders.html in the official journal Le Moniteur, the Food Fortification Act requires that products such as wheat flour, cooking oil and salt, for sale on Haitian territory, be fortified. Flour with folic acid, vitamin B and zinc; cooking oil with vitamin A, and salt with iodine.

Haiti being one of the countries most affected by micronutrient deficiencies, the application of this law is a priority of the Haitian state. However, the Ministry is asking Société Générale de Surveillance SA (SGS) to grant Haitian importers and foreign suppliers of these goods a three-month moratorium, which will expire on October 31, 2018 , and for comply with this law.

Recall that the draft bill on food fortification was approved in the Council of Ministers in July 2013 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8982-haiti-politic-the-council-of-ministers-approved-15-preliminary-draft-laws-and-orders.html
