iciHaiti - Culture : The Haitian cinema at the honor in Angoulême

Haitian cinema was at the honor at the 11th edition of the Francophone Film Festival of Angoulême, West of France (August 21 to 26). Haiti was the guest of honor this year with 9 films screened, out of competition and several guest directors, including Richard Sénécal and Arnold Antonin.

Projected Haitian films : "Haïtian corner and l’homme sur les quais" by Raoul Peck, "Les amours d’un zombi" and "Chronique d’une catastrophe annoncée" by Arnold Antonin, "Ayiti mon amour" by Guetty Felin, "Le jour se lèvera" (Douvanjou Ka Leve)" by Gessica Généus https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-22997-icihaiti-senegal-douvan-jou-ka-leve-award-of-best-haitian-documentary.html , "Mange ceci est mon corps" by Michelange, "Quay, Port-au-Prince dimanche 4 janvier" by Francois Marthouret, "Royal Bonbon" by Charles Najman and "Au-delà des montagnes" by Lamber Wilson.

Also during this Festival the Franco-Haitian pianist Célimène Daudet performed with Stravensky Debrosse the main character of the film "The violinist" of director Richard Sénécal.
