Miguel Vargas Maldonado, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, said a trade agreement with Haiti on the formalization of informal trade, would improve the economy of both nations at the border and stressed that he will discuss this topic with his Haitian counterpart the new Chancellor Bocchit Edmond, on the sidelines of the United Nations Assembly to be held in New York next week.

The Dominican Chancellor believes that with the formalization of trade with Haiti it would be possible to have more benefits for both countries, stressing that this would help to make processes transparent in a series of aspects ranging from tariffs to the taxes perception and other areas that are not currently properly managed.
