iciHaiti - 212nd Dessalines : «The police will not sit idly by»
In a televised speech Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) on the day of October 17, declared for to the political forces and all those who intend to use this moment to demonstrate and claim for various causes, throughout the territory :

"We hear various things being said, on the social networks there are threats of all kinds that are made and the police according to the Constitution in its article 269-1, has its responsibility, which is the protection of life and property of citizens.

Now we take the time to remind everyone that when we talk about life, it's about all lifes, when we talk about goods, that's all goods, whether you're poor or rich, whether you're from left or right.

So the police will never get into anyone's camp, because everyone, no matter where need the police.

Even if the Constitution gives you the right to demonstrate, you can talk without disturbing anyone, but you will agree with us that as soon as you get into trouble the police can not fold their arms.

Today, you can have problems with us, if you enter the violence [...]
We want to take advantage of this moment to remind all tourist operators, hotels, restaurants, private companies, commercial houses, state buildings, and all citizens without distinction, that the PNH makes all the arrangements to be able to guarantee peace, security, stability in the country, on October 17 and every day to come. And we remind it again faced the violence, the police will not sit idly by.

Thank you."
