iciHaiti - Culture : 1st Edition of the «Gede Fest» Festival (Program)

The first edition of the Festival of History, Arts, Culture and Gastronomy Haitian "Gede Fest", will be held from October 25 to November 3, 2018 in Haiti. With a varied program, the Festival will offer 9 days of cultural immersion to festival-goers: Conferences, concerts, workshops, dances, rara band parade, visit to the Port-au-Prince cemetery, exhibition and demonstration and tasting days, among others, are planned as part of this cultural event that will take place in two cities in the country : Port-au-Prince and Jacmel, but which will also honor the city of New Orleans (USA) which celebrates its 300 years of foundation.

The organizers indeed want, through this Festival, to bring together New Orleans and Haiti, a city and a country which despite their geographical position are linked by a cultural past. Hence the theme Twin sisters reunited, on which the Festival will highlight the art and culture of these two communities.

The Maison Dufort on October 25th, 26th, 27th and the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL) on October 29th, 30th and 31st will welcome the Festival.
