iciHaiti - Tourism : Management of major natural risks in the tourism sector

On Monday at the Karibe Convention Center, Marie Christine Stephenson, the Minister of Tourism, proceeded to the opening of a 3-day training workshop on the Management of Major Natural Hazards in the Tourism Industry of the Caribbean.

This workshop is organized by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) with the support of Carribbean Development Bank, CARIFORUM and the Ministry of Tourism of Haiti. The objective of this workshop is to help participants develop good practices in the prevention and management of natural disasters that could affect the tourism sector in the region.

Participants from different sectors of national life : public and private sector, voluntary sector and University among others, will be able after this training to use optimally the guide on risk management developed by the CTO.

Note that Haiti currently serves as Vice President of the Executive Committee of the CTO.
