iciHaiti - Social : People with disabilities particularly vulnerable to the crisis
Gérald Oriol Jr., the Secretary of State for the Integration of People with Disabilities, expresses his deep concern over the situation that has prevailed in the country for several months and which has worsened in recent weeks.

He takes the opportunity to emphasize that the disabled population, because of its high social vulnerability, is a great victim of this tense climate and crisis that the country is going through. While recognizing the right of everyone to express themselves in various forms as a citizen, Secretary of State Oriol believes that it is also important to recall the need to respect the fundamental rights of others, even in times of crisis.

Oriol recalls that the latest events have prompted a large number of organizations of persons with disabilities facing great insecurity, deprived of water and food, to appeal for emergency assistance to ensure the survival of their members.

The Secretary of State calls for the understanding and solidarity of everyone so that the rights of persons with disabilities are fully respected in the difficult circumstances of our country.
