Following the publication of the revised electoral calendar (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48770-haiti-flash-new-revised-electoral-calendar-oct-28-2026.html), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) is providing the public with details regarding the financing of the elections.

The electoral budget, as communicated by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to the Ministry prior to the latest revision of the calendar, amounts to 120 million US dollars.

As of September 30, 2026, contributions made to the "basket funds" managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) total slightly over 80 million US dollars ($80,651,000). The remaining balance to be funded therefore stands at 39 million US dollars ($39,349,000).

The Ministry specifies that this balance of 39 million US dollars is included in the budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year and will be disbursed incrementally, based on the requirements for implementing the electoral process.

To review the execution of the electoral budget and discuss any potential adjustments, the Ministry plans to hold a working meeting with the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) as soon as possible.
