Thursday, 40 people of Haitian origin (9 men, 25 women and 6 minors) in an irregular migration situation were arrested by the Bolivarian police during a check in Santa Cruz in Bolivia in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, in Bolivia.

The Chief of Police explained that agents had taken these people to Interpol's offices for verification of their nationality, identity, income and criminal record.

Rolando Millares, the Director of Interpol explained "They came on foot from Brazil avoiding all checkpoints" and indicated that after verification his services had confirmed that no criminal history at the international level concerned arrested Haitians

As a result, Interpol's services have put these migrants in the hands of the migration services in order to establish their migration status and decide on the follow-up provided for in the law.
