On Sunday, individuals identifying themselves as police offciers, along with activists and sympathizers of the radical opposition, took the streets, in total violation of the barrier measures in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, despite the ban on demonstrations and the warnings https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30953-haiti-news-zapping.html . They erected barricades of flaming tires, despite the muscular intervention of the riot police of the PNH who made heavy use of tear gas canisters to disperse the demonstrators.
Protesters who criticized the government for its mismanagement of the pandemic and demanded the departure of President Moïse. Several people were injured in the demonstration, including two journalists Jessica Jourdain and Johnson César, who were injured by tear gas canisters and rushed to hospital.
