Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of July 13 to 19, 2020, 16 road accidents on the national territory (-42%) copared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31275-icihaiti-road-safety-28-accidents-11-deaths-including-6-in-motorcycles.html , made at least 31 victims ( -53.73%): 3 dead (-72.7%) and 28 injured (-50%) including several seriously.

Delmas 32, Saint-Louis de sud, Limonade, route rails, crossroads marassa, Petit-Goâve, Thiotte, Delmas 62 among others, are the main communes and zones where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen preventive measures in the face of the rise in Covid-19 cases, in particular at the level of public transport and confinement and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service.
