iciHaiti - Road safety : 28 accidents, 11 deaths including 6 in motorcycles
Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of July 6 to 12, 2020, 28 road accidents on the national territory (-38 %%) compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31216-icihaiti-road-safety-39-accidents-81-victims.html, made at least 67 victims (-14 %%): 11 dead (+ 37%) including on a motorcycle and 56 injured (-30.36%) including several seriously.

Parisian fonds, Pèlerin 5, Gressier, Plaine du nord, Lathan, Morne Aquin, Pèlerin 7, Morne calvaire, Williamson, Grand-goâve, Jacmel, Pont colette (Fort-Liberté), among others, are the main comunes and areas where these accidents have been recorded.

Remember that this weekly assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to a lack of STOP-Accident means, it is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die from their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to reinforce preventive measures in the face of the rise in the cases of Covid-19, particularly in terms of public transport and containment and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service.
