As part of the "Economically green mountain and road village by municipal intersection" program, which is currently the subject of consultations until the end of September 2020, Abner Septembre, the Minister of the Environment intends to boost the germplasm and plant propagation centers https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-22875-icihaiti-environment-inauguration-of-the-plant-propagation-center-south.html https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-22875-icihaiti-environment-inauguration-of-the-plant-propagation-center-south.html to fuel the "Nou pral plante dlo" campaign.

This campaign, which will last 15 months (October 2020 to December 2021), aims to plant at least 10 million seedlings in priority bare watersheds, plains and the coast, with a success rate of 95%.

Concrete measures are also identified to curb deforestation and lawless practices in construction (road, building, house, installation) and extraction (sand, rock and others) in quarries and rivers.

Energy alternatives and incentive measures have also been identified to reduce the pressure on wood resources and soils, to rehabilitate protected areas, to strengthen environmental monitoring in areas at risk and of high ecological sensitivity, etc...

Unable to do or succeed in this work alone, the Ministry has put in place a strategy to mobilize partners and other institutions. Already, a protocol has been signed with around twenty civil society organizations, 3 Ministries (MENFP, MISAC, MT) and CORPUHA bringing together nearly twenty universities.

Contacts are underway with municipalities, CASECs, religious institutions, community development organizations, youth and women's organizations, etc...

Minister Septembre takes the opportunity to launch a call for citizen participation in a Kombit "koukouwouj" to save our environment.
