iciHaiti - Culture : The singer «Shoubou» honored at the National Palace 28/08/2020 10:21:35
Thursday at the National Palace, President Jovenel Moïse during a ceremony awarded a Diploma of the National Order of Honor and Merit to the Rank of Officer to singer Roger M. Eugène, (73 years old) aka "Shoubou", for his 52 years devoted to the sustainability of our Compas and for his inestimable contribution to the influence of Haitian culture. Recall that Roger M. Eugène (born in Port-de Paix in 1947), is one of the oldest members of the legendary group Tabou Combo, 52 years old (1968). He left Haiti in 1971 and has been living in the United States for about fifty years. Note that his 74-year-old wife died on April 3 from medical complications in a hospital on Long Island, New York, where she had been hospitalized for 2 weeks. IH/ iciHaiti
