Garnel Michel Coordinator of the Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of August 24 to 30, 2020, 23 accidents on the national territory (-37.8%) compared to to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31631-icihaiti-road-safety-37-accidents-at-least-119-victims.html made at least 66 victims (-80%): 7 dead (-41%) and 59 injured (-44.8%) including several seriously.

Morne à cabri, Arcahaie, Chalon (Miragoâne), airport road, Tabarre, route rail , route de frères, Roseaux (Jérémie), Pèlerin 2, Léogane among others, are the main communes and zones where these accidents were recorded .

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen preventive measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service.
