The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH) informs the university community and the general public that the University Council, meeting in extraordinary session on September 2, decided that the doors of the State University of Haiti will remain closed from Monday 7 to Wednesday 9 September 2020 in protest against the villainous assassination of two members of the institution, namely Doctor Monferrier Dorval, eminent professor of constitutional law and of methodology and President of the Bar Association of Port-au-Prince https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31661-icihaiti-pelerin-5-assassination-of-the-president-of-the-bar-of-port-au-prince.html and the student-memorandum at the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine Promotion 2014-2019) Mical Samul missing since Tuesday August 25 and whose lifeless body has was found at the beginning of the week with a bullet in the head.

The UEH thus wants to denounce with all its might and vigorously protest against the situation of generalized insecurity and impunity which has been taking hold across the country for too long.

The Rectorate continues to demand that light be shed on this double assassination and that justice be rendered to them in accordance with the laws of the Republic.

"The Rectorate, once again, renews its heartfelt condolences to the community of faculties of law, agronomy and human sciences of the UEH, to the bar of the Bar of Port-au-Prince, to all relatives and friends affected by these appalling and painful assassinations."
