In the October 2020 monthly bulletin of the Technical Unit of Seismology (UTS) of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME), the geological engineer Claude Prépetit, DG of the BME, informs that the national and regional seismological networks recorded in Haiti 27 earthquakes (14 less than the previous month https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-32035-icihaiti-environment385-earthquakes-in-9-months.html ) of magnitudes between 1, 5 and 3.4 on the Richter scale.

The 3 departments most affected by earthquakes in October are the departments of Southeast (10 earthquakes), Northwest (7) and West (4).

From January to October, 412 small earthquakes were reported mainly in the Northwest (143) and Southeast (109).
