iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 33 accidents, 83 victims

The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of November 23 to 29, 2020, 33 accidents on the national territory (+ 17.8% compared to the previous week) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-32366-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-28-accidents-70-victims.html made at least 83 victims (+ 18.5%): 14 deaths (+ 55.5%, including several young people) and 69 injured (+ 13.1%) including several seriously.

Kenscoff, Morne Saint-Georges (RN2), Courjol (Arcahaie), airport road, Ouanaminthe, Delmas 40b, Mirebalais, Carrefour Dufort, Arcachon, Ganthier... among others, are the main communes and zones where these accidents were recorded .

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of financial resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service and invites road users to maintain responsible behavior to reduce the risk of accidents.
