iciHaiti - Dom Rep. : End of Chancellor Joseph's official tour

Saturday as part of his official one-week tour of the Dominican Republic hhttps://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32400-haiti-diplomacy-high-level-haitian-mission-in-the-dominican-republic.html Claude Joseph, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the head of the Haitian delegation, went to Santiago.

Chancellor Joseph and his delegation were received at the Consulate of Haiti in Santiago at around 10:00 am by Consul General James Jacques for an inspection visit and a meeting with diplomatic staff.

In the afternoon, the Head of Haitian diplomacy who wanted to inquire about the working conditions of Haitian students in Santiago participated in a meeting with about fifty students. It should be noted that Chancellor Joseph was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Jean Claude Barthélémy, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, Louis Gonzague Edner Day and the Haitian Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Smith Augustin.

The students informed the authorities of their irregular situation, which is their main concern. These young people say they are tired of continuing their studies in a context of permanent worry, wanting to avoid having to do with the agents of the Dominican General Directorate of Immigration (DGM). Their study permit in Dominican territory was their first demand.
