iciHaiti - Health : Training young people on the dangers of HIV and STIs, and their responsibilities
Saturday, October 5 Ronald Gérard D'Mézard, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC), organized, through the Department of Youth and Integration, a series of training sessions, on different sites, for young people from different districts of the metropolitan area in order to make them aware of the dangers of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) but also of their responsibility in the fight against these diseases.

The trainers of the DJI spoke to the young people on HIV and STIs in general, the transmission routes, the means of prevention, and responsible behavior. They reminded participants that, despite global progress, AIDS remains an incurable disease that continues to cause death.

Participants were encouraged to speak up and shared information received about AIDS and various STIs. They also expressed a desire to pass on the knowledge acquired to their peers in order to help them better protect themselves and their community.

Minister D'Mézard is convinced that this kind of initiative is essential for the protection of young people who are experiencing unacceptable precariousness and hopes that the young people who took part in this training day will actively participate in the mobilization for healthy youth.
