iciHaiti - Health : Japan's donation of a cold room and $3.2 million 13/12/2020 09:23:06
On Thursday, took place the signing of a Grant Agreement between Mitsuaki Mizuno, Ambassador of Japan in Haiti, and Bruno Maes, Representative of UNICEF in Haiti. This donation of US $3.2 million is part of the project "Strengthening the Expanded Program on Immunization." According to Bruno Maes, the fund will help immunize thousands of children facing infectious diseases, such as measles, especially those living in the most remote areas. He emphasizes that these activities will be organized in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Health as part of the strengthening of the vaccination program that began several years ago in Haiti. The same day, as part of the same project, took place the inauguration of a cold room with a capacity of 10 m3 offered by Japan to the Ministry of Public Health. Thanks to these donations, the vaccination coverage rate will increase further in the country, especially in urban areas and the most remote communes. Let's recall that Japan is one of the largest donors for childhood immunizations in Haiti. IH/ iciHaiti
