Léon Charles, Director General a.i of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) accompanied President Jovenel Moïse and Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe as part of a visit to the commune of Carrefour on December 18.

The presidential delegation went in particular to the Carrefour police station commonly known as "Omega" where a plaque of honor was presented to agent Carl-Henry Barthelmy, for his bravery and heroic act during the last interventions of the police aiming to drive out members of a heavily armed gang, who were trying to take control of the territory of the commune.

Léon Charles promised other actions to encourage and empower the police in the performance of their duties.
