The Honduran police arrested a Honduran "coyote" [smuggler], who was illegally transporting in a yellow bus, 32 Haitians who wanted to go to the United States.

According to a Honduran police statement, the arrest took place near the Gallardo de Namasigue bridge in the department of Choluteca, on the border with Nicaragua.

The bus driver, a 51-year-old Honduran, was brought before a prosecutor at the Public Prosecutor's Office in Choluteca, in the south of the country, accused of illegal human trafficking to the detriment of the safety and freedom of 32 Haitian nationals.

Haitians have been transferred to immigration offices so that, according to law, they can go through the process of returning to their country of origin.
