iciHaiti - Ancestors' Day : Floral offering in honor of the Heroes of independence
Saturday morning January 2, 2021, Ancestors' Day, President Jovenel Moïse accompanied by his wife Martine, the Prime Minister, Joseph Jouthe, members of the Government and the High Staffs of the National Police of Haiti and the Armed Forces of Haiti were present at the floral offering ceremony at the altar of the Fatherland, at the Champ de Mars, in honor of the Heroes of independence.

"Today more than yesterday, unanimity around the need to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors must be rebuilt. After the end of the ceremony of homage to our ancestors, I immediately go back to work [...] Our Heroes were not idle." declared the Head of State.

"This January 2, 2021, ancestor day, reminds us of the courage and exuberance that our ancestors showed to obtain our freedom. Let’s follow in the footsteps of our heroes to provide a bright future for posterity. Our independence was hard won by our ancestors. This date should inspire us to act for a better future for our children and grandchildren. Let us be inspired by this model in order to rebuild our country," declared in his intervention Guy Francois Jr. the Minister in charge of Patriotism and Citizenship.
