iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 31 accidents at least 73 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of January 11 to 17, 2021, 31 accidents on the national territory (+ 19.2% compared to the previous week) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-32770-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-26-accidents-at-least-59-victims.html , have made at least 73 victims (+ 23.7%): 10 deaths including an 8-year-old schoolgirl (+ 42.8%) and 63 injured (+ 21.1%), several of them seriously.

Bois Verna, Canapé vert in Port-au-Prince, Pèlerin, Morne Calvaire in the town of Pétion-ville, Cap-Haitien in the North and Port-de-Paix in the North West, are the main communes and cities and zones where these accidents were recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of financial resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service and invites road users to maintain responsible behavior to reduce the risk of accidents.
