According to information from the newspaper "Estadao", the Brazilian Ministry of Health has a stock of 7.1 million PCR tests which in principle expired between December 2020 and January 2021, but ultimately their use was extended by four months.

So far, Brazil has managed to donate 2.1 million of these tests, although several hospitals and health centers have refused in recent months to receive those that were about to expire.

A delegation from the Brazilian Ministry of Health is in Port-au-Prince, to discuss with the authorities and assess whether Haiti is capable of receiving this donation "The health space, being one of the priority issues in reconstruction and stabilization of Haiti, this is one of the main axes of cooperation between the two countries [...] The Haitian Government has asked Brazil to donate detection tests and is in the process of finalizing the details," declared Brazilian Foreign Affairs.
