Due to the upsurge in crime, including kidnaping and the disarray of the population, Jude Edouard Pierre, the Mayor of Carefour held an important meeting this week on the security situation in the commune with representatives of several public and private institutions.

New measures have been taken to stem the phenomenon of kidnaping and widespread insecurity. These include : the obligation for public and private institutions to have surveillance cameras in their surroundings, the donation of 5 motorcycles to the police station to intervene more quickly, in particular in a kidnapping case and to place discreet informants in strategic areas.
