iciHaiti - Road report : 38 accidents more than 100 victims

The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of March 8 to 14, 2021, 38 accidents on the national territory (+ 16.0% compared to the previous week) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-33197-icihaiti-road-report-32-accidents-at-least-77-victims.html made at least 103 victims (+ 33.80%): 14 dead ( + 75%) and 89 injured (+ 28.98%) including several seriously.

Williamson (RN1), Nan Orèl (Port-de-Paix), Gressier, Camp-Perrin, Pèlerin 3, Haut du Cap, Fond-des-Nègres, Pétion-ville, Bassin bleu, and Delmas 33 are the main communes and eones where these accidents were recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of financial resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to maintain responsible behavior in order to reduce the risk of accidents.
