The Ambassador of France in Haiti, José Gomez, visited Jérémie last week to see the results of the renovation and support project led by French cooperation (Agence Française de Développement and ACTED Haiti) in favor of Saint Antoine Hospital which had suffered serious damage during the passage of Hurricane Matthew (October 4, 2016).

Main results for the benefit of the hospital :

- 200 new beds;

- Establishment of a neonatal care unit;

- Rehabilitation of internal medicine, surgery and pediatrics services.

- Installation of a photovoltaic energy system.

The total cost of French support to Saint Antoine Hospital amounts to approximately 670,000 Euros. It should be noted that this project also made it possible to supply equipment and medicines to several health institutions in the department of Grand'Anse.
