iciHaiti - Obituary : Death of union educator René Prévil Joseph
Sunday June 27, 2021, the Ministry of National Education learned with dismay of the death of the union educator, René Prévil Joseph had tested positive for Covid-19 and would have succumbed to complications of the disease according to his colleagues at the Confederation Haitian Workers (CTH).

In a note of sympathy, the communication office of the Ministry underlines "[...] Teacher of social sciences, tireless union leader, in particular secretary general of the Federation of Workers in Education and Culture (FENATEC), René Prévil Joseph has always known reconcile the defense of education workers and the right to education of children.

Demonstrating wisdom and openness, he has always been open to dialogue, constantly seeking a consensual approach to resolving conflicts while very clearly defending the interests of teachers.

The Ministry and the education sector have just lost a hard worker, a distinguished trade unionist, a career educator, a servant of the Republic.

The Ministry salutes his memory and hopes that his action and constructive approach can inspire other unionists in their struggle while taking into account the interests of our children.

The Ministry expresses its sympathies to his family, his fellow unionists, his collaborators, his colleagues from the Lycée Pétion, among others, and his relatives and friends."
