iciHaiti - Japan : Solar energy arrives in 3 municipalities in the North-East
Soon, the municipalities : Vallières, Capotille and Mont-Organisé (North-East Dept.) will each be equipped with an autonomous hybrid photovoltaic solar power plant of approximately 300 Kw capable of supplying electricity to nearly 2,000 users through a prepaid system during the first phase of the project. Once the networks are established, the number of connections will increase according to demand and management will be ensured by a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the various stakeholders.
These power plants are built as part of the "Rural Electrification and Women's Empowerment" (ERAF) project, implemented jointly by the Ministry of Public Works and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP-Haiti) funded by the Japan.
