Wednesday evening The Prime Minister, a.i. Claude Joseph, spoke by phone with the American Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, about the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse and its impact on the political process in Haiti.

"The Head of American diplomacy expressed his deep condolences to the presidential family, to the Haitian Government and people while calling on all actors in national life to join in the call for calm launched by Prime Minister Claude Joseph and to work together to ensure peace and democratic governance in Haiti."

The Head of Government promised to discuss with the leaders of the opposition and other actors of national life in order to appease the socio-political climate and to facilitate the holding of inclusive and credible elections according to the calendar established by the Council. Electoral Provisional (CEP).
