On the night of July 10 to 11, 2021, the former Minister for Women's Affairs Ginette Rivière Lubin [2001-2004] under the presidency of Jean Bertrand Aristide, died in the United States from complications related to Covid-19.

Remember that at the beginning of June, tested positive, she had been treated in a Covid treatment center in Delmas 2.

Despite the treatment and her condition worsening, Ginette Rivière Lubin decided to continue her care in a hospital in the United States. However, despite all efforts and after more than a month of fighting the disease, she succumbed to Covid-19.
