Prime Minister Dr Ariel Henry this week installed Dieuseul Simon Desras as the new Minister of Planning and External Cooperation. He replaces Abner Septembre in this post.

The Head of Government invited the new incumbent of the Ministry to do everything possible to allow this strategic institution to contribute effectively to national development.

In his intervention, after the customary thanks, Desras promised to get to work quickly in order to generate the synergies necessary to achieve alignment of external development assistance with the Government’s priorities.

He insisted on the urgency of a joint and participatory strategic planning with a view to recovering the country on the one hand and improving the living conditions of the population in almost total distress, particularly in terms of housing and food security and nutrition.

Further energize the National Council of Cooperatives (CNC); supporting the National Geospatial Information Center (CNIGS) and the Technical Center for Planning and Applied Economics (CTPEA) are also among its priorities.
