iciHaiti - Agriculture : Towards a strengthening of the partnership with the FAO

José Luis Fernández, the Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Haiti spoke with Charlot Brédy, the new Minister of Agriculture, about a strengthening of the partnership between two institutions.
They discussed, among other things, the "Main dans la Main" (Hand in hand) initiative launched in Haiti in 2019 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-31344-haiti-agriculture-haiti-among-the-5-priority-countries-of-fao.html ; of the National Food Sovereignty and Security and Nutrition Policy and Strategy in Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-33140-haiti-agriculture-signature-of-5-cooperation-projects-for-a-total-amount-of-us$-215-million.html ; the National Seed Policy https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20392-haiti-agriculture-validation-of-the-draft-seed-bill.html and the World Summit on Food Systems to be held in September 2021 in New York.
They also discussed the presence of African Swine Plague in the border area with the Dominican Republic and its possible impact on agro-industry and the economy of pastoralists in Haiti and on the support that FAO could provide to the country. Ministry of Agriculture in its prevention, control and surveillance actions.
