Smith Augustin the Ambassador of Haiti in Santo Domingo welcomes the Resolution of a Special Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic, approved by more than 100 legislators, condemning the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse.

"Through this Resolution, the Chamber of Deputies wishes to :

1. Express the regret of all the legislators who are members of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic in the face of the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse and the difficult situation that the Haitian people are going through;

2. Condemn the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, July 7, 2021;

3. Express its solidarity with the Haitian people and offer its condolences to the family of President Jovenel Moïse and to the first lady, Martine Moïse, who was seriously injured during the assassination of her husband."
