In a note Franck Helmcke President of the Professional Association of Banks (APB) presents "his sympathies to all the victims of the August 14 earthquake which grieved the Haitian nation and more particularly the population of the Great South."

"The APB informs that bank branches in the towns of Jérémie, Cayes and Aquin were particularly affected by the earthquake. The other points of service located in the other cities of the Great South continue to serve customers, as usual.

Security checks of the buildings housing the bank branches in the three cities mentioned above are underway. This approach aims to ensure an adequate operating environment for customers and employees of banks. These branches will be reopened to customers as soon as possible."

The Professional Association of Banks wishes to express its solidarity with all affected people, faced with the difficulties they are currently facing.
