iciHaiti - Earthquake : Towards the end of the search for survivors ?
Luis Alba, the head of the Mexican rescue group "Los Topos" who had been working for 4 days in Les Cayes in search of possible survivors announced that the Civil Protection of Haiti informed them on Sunday evening of its decision to end the search with the rescue teams in Les Cayes, the city most affected by the earthquake "We are going to demobilize the team [..] I feel sad but we must respect the decisions of the authorities," declared Luis Alba

At the same time, the Civil Protection asserts that the search for possible survivors is not interrupted without further details of the areas concerned...

Note that a specialized group of Colombian firefighters has announced that it has officially finished its operations in Haiti. Locally, one of the groups of firefighters from Cap-Haitien ended its operations in the South on Monday, August 23. The day before, the Jacmel firefighters team on site since Monday August 16, also ended their mission in Les Cayes, Camp-Perrin and Ducis (South).

Among the national rescue teams, only two teams are still in the South continuing search and rescue operations.
