On Thursday August 26, 2021, the Intervention Brigade of the Miragoâne City Center police station carried out a police operation in the rue de Nippes during which 14 people were arrested for embezzling humanitarian aid intended for the population of the Grande Anse, Wednesday August 25 at the port of La Gonâve.

The police seized 148 bags of rice during the interventions carried out on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 August 2021.

It should be noted that the aid diverted was on board a boat and the captain managed to escape with his boat.

The file was transferred to justice for legal consequences.
