In a note dated Wednesday, September 15, 2021, the Secretary General of the Senate recalls that the Haitian Parliament was violently attacked the day before https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34753-haiti-news-zapping.html by heavily armed individuals who caused panic among employees, visitors and journalists inside the building.

The Senate vehemently condemns this criminal attack.

Continuing "The first information gathered suggests that known gangs have been engaged by dark forces in order to thwart the work of the Senators who were to meet in Assembly.

The Senate Bureau, which took note of this, requested the National Police Command to take effective measures to strengthen the security of Parliament buildings and staff"
