On Wednesday September 22, 2021, a ceremony was organized to officially hand over to the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC), 4 field hospitals donated by the humanitarian aid program of the United States Army Southern Command (SOUTHCOM)

These field hospitals meet certain expectations of emergency responses. They will support community health systems if they are overwhelmed by diseases like COVID-19 or huge cases of mass injury, like in an earthquake. Each field hospital can accommodate up to 40 beds and can accommodate up to 70 patients.

At this ceremony were present the Ministers Greta Roy Clément (Health), Liszt Quitel (Interior), the Director General of the Civil Defense Directorate, Dr. Jerry Chandler, the Head of Mission ai of the United States Embassy, ​​Port-au-Prince (Haiti), Alex Daniels, representatives of the humanitarian aid program of (SOUTHCOM) and brigadiers and technicians attached to the DPC.
