Following a spinning, agents of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), arrested, last week two individuals for illegal trafficking of firearms.

They are Kesnel Joseph, an agent of the Protected Areas Surveillance Brigade (BSAP), in Delmas 31 who was shot and wounded during his arrest and Jude Jean, a parliamentary police officer arrested in Delmas 40B.

DCPJ agents located and seized 5 AR-15 semi-automatic assault rifles from Jude Jean.

During his hearing Jude Jean confessed that these weapons had been entrusted to him to be sold for 4,500 US dollars per unit. He also denounced a certain "Baz Baz" operating with a double identity under the names of Célestin Robenson and Kesnel Jean Baptiste. The police are currently investigating to confirm his identity.
