iciHaiti - Kidnapping : Release of an 8-year-old student by the PNH, 5 arrests

Friday October 1, 2021, Inspector General Marie Michelle Verrier, Spokesperson for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) announced the success of the police operation Thursday, September 30 in the evening evening at Village Solidarité (commune of Delmas) , aiming to free from the hands of his captors an 8-year-old student kidnapped the same day from Gérald Bataille on his return from school.
Five individuals, David Jean Baptiste (the victim's uncle), James Jean Baptiste, Frederick Lundi, Peterson Pierre and Ricardo Lacoste a policeman from the 27th promotion assigned to the PoliFront were arrested and presented to the press. Ransom-demand messages with the victim's parents were discovered on the phone of one of the individuals, the PNH spokeswoman said.
The 5 individuals accused of kidnapping were taken into custody for legal proceedings.
