The National Ambulance Center (CAN) has communicated to us its statistical report relating to the pre-hospital care of the various emergency cases carried out during the month of September 2021.

Of the 1,308 cases handled by the CAN in August 2021 (+26.25% compared to the previous month https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-34791-icihaiti-health-review-of-the-national-ambulance-center-august-2021.html ), 29% were obstetric emergencies, 25% head trauma and 24% transfers.

This report reveals that the CAN intervened in :

37 cases of respiratory distress (not associated with COVID-19);

44 cases of chronic diseases (various pathologies);

384 obstetric emergencies;

316 transfers (references and laboratory examinations);

17 various conditions (discomfort, diarrhea, fever, anemia, abdominal pain, etc...)

In addition, CAN intervened in 77 road accidents, 17 gunshot wounds, 16 stab wounds, 330 traumas (injuries and fractures of various degrees) and 9 burn cases, as well as 47 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 14 suspected cases.

843 interventions took place in the West, 185 in Artibonite, 71 in the South, 70 in the North-West, 62 in the South-East, 51 in the North / North-East, 14 in Grand'Anse , 12 in Nippes and 0 in the Center.
