During a ceremony chaired by the Consul General of the Dominican Republic José Valenzuela in Ouanaminthe in the presence of Haitian authorities and the vice-consular body officially announced the commissioning this week of an automated online visa application system.

According to the Consulate for the first day the system went online, more than 600 visa applications were received.

In his intervention, Consul Valenzuela said that with the implementation of this new system, the long tedious queues as well as the disorderly crowds of Haitian citizens seeking consular services are over.
