Tuesday, November 9 at the National Police School (road of Frères), Frantz Elbé, the Director General ai of the Haitian National Police (PNH), met with Todd D. Robinson the Deputy Secretary of State of International Bureau for Drug Enforcement and Law Enforcement (INL) and members of its delegation.

The issue of public security was discussed between the US Under Secretary, Ambassador Kenneth Merten, who is responsible for Chargé d'Affaires a.i. at the US Embassy in Haiti, and Frantz Elbé. The current situation of the police institution in relation to the problems it faces and the measures implemented to support it in its mission to protect and serve the population, were also discussed during this meeting.

In addition, in order to support units fighting against gangs, the Deputy Secretary of State announced the donation of a first tranche of 60 vehicles to the PNH, 20 of which have already been handed over to the police institution.

In addition, there was talk of the creation of a "task force" to fight crime and the dismantling of gang networks, particularly in the metropolitan area, indicated Frantz Elbé at the end of the meeting.
