On Wednesday, December 15 at a press conference, the Divisional Inspector, Garry Desrosiers, Spokesman for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) announced that as part of the national security plan aimed at allowing the population to freely go about their activities on the occasion of the end-of-year celebrations, "11,000 police officers are already mobilized across the 10 geographic departments of the country."

Stating "Patrols are being stepped up, particularly in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince and the deployment of police officers who are part of the specialized units are very present on various roads."
