A vaccination campaign for dogs against rabies is currently underway in the North West department and will extend to the rest of the country in the coming weeks.

For several years, the office of the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO in Haiti) has supported the Ministries of Agriculture and Health in the implementation of its program aimed at eliminating canine rabies in Haiti.

Let's recall that Haiti is one of only four countries in the Western Hemisphere that still reports human deaths due to canine rabies.

Remember that around the world, rabies kills nearly 60,000 people each year.
