Following the publication of a decree on the issue of waste https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35437-haiti-notice-cap-haitien-takes-strict-measures-for-waste-management.html which will come into force at the beginning of 2022, a working session was held between the Deputy Mayor, representatives of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of Order (UDMO), of the Departmental Supervision of the Administrative Police (SDPA), the Community Police and the Municipal Commissioner around the implementation of the new municipal decree relating to waste management at the municipality level.

Patrick Almonor insisted to the municipal commissioner that there be strict application of this decree from the beginning of January 2022.

In the meantime, the Municipal Commission undertakes to carry out a communication campaign around this municipal decree, which notably condemns in its article 19, to a fine of 5,000 gourdes and the application of the law of July 25, 1878, any person any obviously surprised throwing or depositing household garbage, rubble and other bulky items, anywhere in the town.
